Cafeteria Volunteers

THANK YOU for volunteering in the cafeteria. We could not function at lunch without your assistance. I tried to accommodate all requests, however, in some cases, I was unable to make the schedule work with the request. I apologize for this and hope that the attached schedule meets the approval of all volunteers.

Attached you will find a calendar schedule. It is imperative that we have adequate coverage in the cafeteria. Please mark your calendar now with your assigned days, and if you have to miss a day, please find a substitute.

CALENDAR DISTRIBUTION
· The calendar will be distributed via e-mail and paper copy through your children.
· The calendar will be posted on the St. Peters web site at http://www.stpeterjc.org/STPeter.nsf. You can find the calendar, along with other useful information regarding the cafeteria program at the school news link, under Cafeteria.

The volunteer list will also be distributed via e-mail and will contain home and cell phone numbers as well as e-mail addresses to aid you in contacting your partner.

CAFETERIA VOLUNTEER PASS – all volunteers are to check in at the office to pick up a Lunchroom Volunteer Pass

PARKING -There are parking spaces for cafeteria volunteers. Available spaces are 1-10 and 56-61. No special parking tags are required.

Duties
LINE ASSISTANTS are asked to be ready to go at 11:00 (or before if possible) to assist the children with the salad bar and to collect lunch cards. Two people are assigned to each shift and are needed until the younger children have eaten. Older children should be through the line at approximately 12:15, and we need one person to stay until that time, two if possible.

TABLE WIPERS should begin by 11:30 when the first table of children is dismissed. Some table wipers split the lunch shift to cover the entire lunch period, approximately 11:30 to 12:45. Please wipe tables, and chairs if needed.

Get in contact with your partner, and work out a plan. REMEMBER it is up to you to make sure that the entire time is covered. Please work together to make this happen.

Free Lunch You are welcome to eat a free lunch as a “thank-you” for volunteering.

Holidays If there is no school on the day you volunteer, please consider it a holiday for yourself as well. It is not necessary for you to come the following week, as you have not “missed” a turn.
