A LITTLE ABOUT THE 2008-2009 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Lisa Lamons--President
My name is Lisa Lamons. My husband, Randy Lamons, and I have four children. Our oldest, Loren Waller, is 15 years old, has a disability and is mainstreamed in the public school district classes and our other
three children attend St. Peter. Alyssa Waller- 8th grade, Jacob Lamons,- 3rd grade and Jesse Lamons,1st grade. We are a first year family at St. Peter and we absolutely love the school and the environment our children have here. I try to be involved as much as possible and have volunteered for as much as my spare time has allowed. Even when I do not have time, I make time. In addition, I served as the Auction Co-chair for the Big Bucks Committee this year and am currently the Follow-up Committee Chair for Grateful Memories/Faithful Future Campaign.
I work full-time for the State of Missouri, Department of Transportation (MoDOT), as the System Management Support Services Manager and have a staff of 11 employees. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My family and faith are most important to me. My children are very active in school activities and outside sports and I love watching them do the activities they enjoy. In the past, I have served as the president of the
parent group for my daughter's cheerleading parent group and coordinated all fund-raising activities for 3 years. However, most of all, I love being at home with my family just hanging out together, doing family activities!
It would be a great opportunity to serve as a committee member of the St. Peter Home and School Association and I feel that I would make a positive contribution to the committee.
Gloria Johnson--Past President 2007-2008
Gloria (Roling) Johnson, I have been a member of St. Peter parish since 1987. I attended St. Stanislaus grade school and graduated from Blair Oaks. I have my Associates in Business Management from Columbia College.
I am employed as a Trust Assistant for the Investment Management and Trust Department at Cental Bank.
My husband Michael Johnson (deceased) and I are parents of Crystal in 6th grade and Rebecca (Gonzales) Seward who graduated from St. Peter in 1997
and Helias in 2001. Rebecca and her husband, Greg, live in Columbia. Some of the activities I have assisted with include: Sunday School, Girl Scouts, Room Mother, and Mission Party White Elephant Booth.
Carrie Young--Special Projects
My name is Carrie Young. I was born and raised in Sikeston, Missouri which is located in the Bootheel. I attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield before becoming a nanny for a family of six on
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. I have lived in Jefferson City for the past 10 years. My husband Jeff and I have two children attending St.
Peter School. John is in 2nd and Lydia is in third grade. I am an Executive for the Missouri House of Representatives, working directly with the Chief Administrator / Chief Clerk and Director of Operations. I
enjoy gardening, cooking and watching my children play sports.
Susie Theroff--Parent Involvement
My name is Susie Theroff. I am a lifelong resident of Jefferson City and graduated from Helias High School. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Prior to becoming a
stay-at-home mom, I worked as a graphic artist for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. I am married to Ken Theroff and we have three daughters - Emmi, 3rd grade; Anna, 1st grade; and Grace, four. In my free time I do
some freelance artwork. Helping with school lunch, monthly packets, room mom, sketch day, mission party, summer blastoff and bible school are some
ways that I have been involved in St. Peters.
Jan Davidson--Treasurer
My name is Jan Davidson, and I have been a member of St. Peter parish since 1996. I am married to Perry (a life long parish member) and we have two children. Zachary is currently a kindergartner at St. Peter School and Sara who will be going to kindergarten in the fall of 2007.
I graduated in 1997 from the University of Missouri - Columbia with a bachelor's degree in Accounting and have held several financial / management and accounting positions. I currently work as a Utility Policy Analyst with the Public Service Commission. My husband, Perry, works as a route driver for Fechtel's Beverage and Sales.
I feel that it is very important to be involved in your children's education. I feel that volunteering for the Home and School Association will be rewarding for both me and my children. I look forward to working with the other association members.

The following members were in attendance: President Lisa Lamons, Vice President, Mika Schrimpf, Secretary Angela Hirsch, Treasurer Jan Davidson, Melissa Mallicoat, Angie Gaines, Susie Theroff, Melissa Wilding and Dr. Joseph Gulino.
Lisa Lamons called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
Angela Hirsch led the committee in the opening prayer.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes from the October H&S Executive Committee, October 21, 2008 were reviewed. Jan Davidson made the motion to approve the minutes. Susie Theroff seconded the motion. Minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Jan Davidson presented the Treasurer’s Report. Included in the report were the proceeds from the Chili Supper and Apparel Orders to date. Angie Gaines made the motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Susie Theroff seconded. Motion passed.
Wish List requests: Dr. Gulino presented the following “wish list” requests from teachers:
Donna Stuckenschneider
Funds to purchase a stereo to replace the one in the music room $100
Educational materials for the music room $73.70
Lacy Ralston
Oversized laminated check for fundraising purposes $51.47
Susie Theroff made the motion to approve all “wish list” requests this month. Mika Schrimpf seconded. The motion passed.
School Board Meeting Report/Principal’s Report
Dr. Gulino reported that the options for all day Kindergarten are still being discussed. At this time, one full day Kindergarten session and two half day (morning and afternoon) sessions will be offered. At this time, approximately 48 families have expressed interest in all day Kindergarten. Slots will be available on a first come first serve basis.
The establishment of a pre-school program for 4 & 5 year olds is still being reviewed. Planners are hoping to have a preschool program available in the fall of 2009. Preliminary plans include 20 full day slots and 40 half day slots (20 morning/20 afternoon).
The St. Peter Interparish School Board is expected to revisit the dress code policy. A few tweaks to the current code should be expected with the long term goal being that logo apparel be the ultimate dress code policy.
The school has $700 left from the October Book Fair. These funds will go into Script from Barns & Noble Booksellers. The script will then be used to purchase materials for the school library with 9% of the sales coming back to the school.
Dr. Gulino provided contact information for Stan Cowen, a public health speaker, as a potential program for the 2009 fall H&S Parent Meeting. Mr. Cowen presents a program on second hand smoke and health risks therein.
Room Parents: Angie Gaines provided a list of volunteers for the upcoming H&S events including potential H&S Executive Members, Big Bucks and Summer Blastoff. A hard copy of these lists can be found with these minutes.
It was agreed that the parent volunteer form needs to be revised. Angie will work on a revision and provide it to the H&S Executive Committee at a later date.
Parent Involvement: Susie Theroff reported that she needs to confirm available dates with Dr. Gulino for the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son events. Susie suggested that this year, rather than a dodge ball game, the Mother/Son event be changed to Dinner and a Movie. Sons would make “reservations” to take their mothers to dinner at the school cafeteria. The dinner would be catered in and volunteers would serve as wait staff. A movie may then be shown in another part of the school following dinner. The committee members agreed with this and Susie will begin preliminary planning for the spring – perhaps April. The Father/Daughter Dance will also be held in the spring.
Family Mentoring: Lisa Lamons announced that school apparel is in and ready to be distributed to the students. Ms. Kelly’s staff will be sorting and bagging all of the items. Lisa recommended that some kind of thank you gift be given to Ms. Kelly from the H&S for all of her continued assistance and support. The committee agreed.
Hospitality: The staff Holiday party was a huge success. Melissa is already starting to plan for next year.
Melissa is finalizing plans for Kelly’s staff holiday party which will be held in the Fr. Ahrens room on December 4 from 6:00 -8:00 PM. H&S will provide the food and gifts for this event.
Mission Party:
Mika Schrimpf provided a breakout of Committees, booth chairs and volunteers for the Mission Party. A hard copy of this breakout is available with these minutes. Mika will coordinate a meeting with all booth co-chairs and committees prior to the Mission Party.
A new event that will be added to the Mission Party this year is the Guitar Hero tournament. A Guitar Hero guitar has been donated as the grand prize for this event.
Mika will set a date to clean out the White Elephant items from year’s past. She will also send an announcement calling for White Elephant items to St. Peter and St. Andrew parishes for placement in the Sunday Bulletins. Downtown businesses will also be solicited for donations in the next few weeks.
Jan Davidson will provide Mika with information on booth profits from last year’s Mission Party.
Mika asked that any recommendations for volunteers, donations or suggestions for the Mission Party be emailed to her at MSchrimpfJC@gmail.com.
