Welcome to St. Peter Catholic Church

in Jefferson City, Missouri!

We’re glad that you’re visiting our website, and we welcome you to this important part of our community. Founded in 1846, St. Peter Church is rich in faith and tradition.

Following the example of St. Peter, the Apostle, after whom our parish is named, our parish’s common goal and purpose is to profess our belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ through word, worship, education and action. Several hallmarks of our parish are the St. Peter Interparish School (established in 1854), the Vogelweid Learning Center, our devotion to the Blessed Sacrament through celebrations of the Eucharist and parish Perpetual Adoration, and the generous and faithful stewardship, gospel joy, and willing service that our parishioners strive to live out and share with others each day.

The buttons to the side and the pull-down tabs above will provide a great deal of information about our parish and the Catholic Church. We hope that the information on our website will give you a glimpse into the life and vitality of our parish and community.

We invite you to come and personally experience the warmth and hospitality of our parish. We’re located next door to the historic and beautiful Missouri State Capitol. You’re always welcome to visit us on the web and to come for a visit in Jefferson City, Missouri. Thank you for visiting us today and for all the kindness and generosity that you offer in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. With our parish and community, I am

Sincerely yours in Christ,

JCYA Events

Back to Summer BBQ - Sunday June 7! (note: this is a change of date from the previous email) It's that time of the year again, time to dust off the grills and bring out the yard games. So come help us celebrate the beginning of summer! We're going to be eating around noon and then hanging out and having a good time the rest of the afternoon. This year we've decided to raise the bar a bit and add a chance to shoot some guns too.

Things to bring:
1.) yourself and a few friends
2.) yard games if you have some
3.) side dish or dessert
4.) your own drinks
5.) shotgun/pistol and shells if you want to shoot

If you have kids, feel free to bring them along. The shooting will be in a different area than the games and food. The BBQ will be at the Stevenson’s house in Ashland: 7600 East Route Y, Ashland, MO. See you then!

Rosary and PizzaThursday, June 18! Join JCYA at St. Peter’s Chapel (under the church) to pray the rosary at 6:30 pm. Then we will walk to Thursday Night Live downtown for dinner and socializing! If you can’t make it for the rosary, feel free to join us afterwards at Thursday Night Live; you can call or text Molly at 573-230-3322 to connect with us.

Mass Mob!Join JCYA for their first-ever Mass Mob! We plan to attend Mass at St. Andrew Parish in Holts Summit (400 St Andrews Ln, Holts Summit, MO 65043) on Sunday, June 28 at 9:30 am. After Mass we hope to talk to parishioners and hand out cards to promote JCYA and our upcoming events. This is a great way to get the word out and reach more Catholic young adults! Afterwards we will go out for breakfast!
